The Clarksville drag strip was lit up on Friday night as the trophy, footbrake, and street classes all got back to racing. The weather was perfect for the many fans that attended the action-packed night.
In the trophy class, the final round came down to Wesley Svatba out of Elkton Ky. and Matthew Othaldt out of Ft. Campbell, Ky. Svatba dialed in with a time of 11.30 seconds, while Othaldt had a 10.00 E.T. When the tree came down, Svatba went red at (.4780) first and gave the win to Othaldt. Svatba has the point lead with John Triplett in 2nd and not far behind him is Matthew Othaldt with Knight and Bannister rounding out the top five.
In the footbrake class, Steve Langley had to duel with John Perry. Langley had a 6.45 dial in. while Perry had a 6.01 dial in. Their reaction times put Langley ahead of Perry. But at the other end Perry end up with the win with a 6.04 E.T. to Langley 6.49. Allen Wood leads the point’s standings with 910 points and Perry moves to the next spot with 810 points.
Super Pro was up next putting Jason Lynch and Robby Martin side by side and when it was all said and done Martin would pick up the win with a 6.12 E.T. on a 6.10 dial in. at a 111.31 MPH.
The last class to race on Friday night was the street class. The final round came down to Ray Barrington and Jerry Knox. The tree would come down on Knox dial in with a 9.84 to Barrington 8.15. Barrington wins the tree battle and keeps the momentum up to take the win at the other end. The points leader is Janet Mulderink with Jerry Knox in 2nd, running 3rd is John Mulderink, 4th is Jamie Mitchell and rounding out the top 5 is Aaron Keel.
